As far as my apartment's style, that's exactly what it is. A dream.
I recently had the experience of my boyfriend's dad and brother moving into our tiny apartment, and since then it's been near impossible to try and clean up (not that it was anywhere near the apartments I pin on Pinterest, before). Four people in a one bedroom is probably a crime. Luckily the timing was good as our lease was almost up and we have the good fortune to have the greatest landlord ever who didn't mind the emergency tenants, or the idea of letting my boyfriend's dad to take over our lease, allowing us and his brother to make an enormous upgrade to some townhouses nearby. Hello, 1100 square footage of blank canvas for me to artfully design...
Needless to say, although our stuff is fairly cramped in our present apartment, there's no WAY it's going to fill our new space which is probably more than twice the size of where we live, now. Especially not since we now have a full basement to store our unwanted crap (which isn't counted in the square footage *swoon*). Also, since we went through our entire 12 month lease with the we-have-less-than-a-year-to-live-here-anyway mentality, we never really got around to REALLY decorating in the first place.
So I have been spending a majority of my spare time looking for ways to decorate on a budget with the stuff we already have, and some new things we'll be getting. We're hoping to move in by Christmas, so we're in overdrive right now trying to get everything ready, AND make sure his dad is set up to take over the apartment. I'm also becoming monumentally excited!
Because of these developments and the fact that I'm supposed to be starting school in January, I've definitely NOT had time or money to spend on clothes, and thus I've had less to share with you guys than I would like. However, since I'm SO excited about moving and being in a place I actually can see myself staying for a long time, I want to share with you guys my budget-friendly finds as they come along since, obviously, this blog is all about the aesthetic. As long as it's in our price range.
