If I know one person in this world who loves cardigans, it's Kelly. And if I know several other people who love cardigans, I am on the list. Probably the top ten. The top five, even.
And it seems, recently, that cardigans have expanded their repertoire as an article of clothing. What I use to drape over my shoulders when cold or having a "bad arm" day, or button partially to cover an unflattering wrinkle or suddenly noticeable stain, have entered a new state of trendhood.
Totally not me. |
And maybe it ISN'T NEW AT ALL (very likely) and I'm just now noticing. But I love it. And it's a great move to break out for those of us who don't feel the need to buy a cardigan AND a pullover in all the colors we love. Or who can't feel the need due to financial constraints. Let's pretend it's a conscious decision.

My attempt! |
Well, I tried. And I liked it! Particularly because I bought this cardigan loving the colors burgundy and cream with no specific shirt in mind to wear with it. And it turns out I didn't really have one. For now, I can take solace in the fact that it looks pretty damn good on it's own. Unfortunately you can't really see the cardigan in all it's glory with the pictures I've taken. In the future I'll totally try to enlist help taking outfit photos. For now, I was just trying to get a semi-decent picture to show you my attempt at the style.
A quick word regarding stripes and plus size girls: I love stripes. The only fashion rules that apply are the ones you choose to follow. And I choose to ignore this one because I absolutely LOVE stripes. Like, I know I look like Waldo (only cuter), but I don't even care because I LOVE STRIPES SO MUCH.
(Also, sorry about the picture quality. I didn't have good lighting or anyone to take the picture for me.)
I'm going to have double the reason to buy more and more cardigans now that they can double as a pullover. As any girl with a small wallet knows, double the use means double the value.
Adieu,
Brianna
